Role Overview
NVIDIA is seeking highly analytical and passionate Formal Verification Engineers (New College Graduate 2026) to join our Hardware Engineering team in Gurugram, Haryana, or Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this full-time role, you will apply state-of-the-art formal verification methodologies to ensure the functional correctness of complex digital designs, cutting-edge IP blocks, and next-generation System-on-Chips (SoCs). You will partner directly with hardware architecture and digital design teams to translate architectural intent into formal test plans, write temporal logic assertions, and achieve verification closure across world-class GPU, autonomous driving, and accelerated computing hardware platforms.
Core Responsibilities
- Formal Methodology Application: Apply modern formal verification techniques and toolsets to prove properties and identify deep corner-case bugs in complex digital logic, IP blocks, and SoCs.
- Test Plan Development: Formulate comprehensive, robust formal verification test plans by analyzing micro-architecture specifications and RTL design implementations.
- Temporal Assertions: Develop, simulate, and verify formal properties utilizing temporal logic assertions (such as SystemVerilog Assertions - SVA).
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with RTL designers and hardware architects to root-cause failures, refine design assumptions, and resolve architectural ambiguities.
- Verification Closure: Coordinate with cross-functional verification teams to achieve complete property proof convergence and formal verification closure.
- Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of state-of-the-art formal verification abstractions, lemma development, and automated proof strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, VLSI Design, or a related discipline (Graduating Class of 2026).
- Experience: Fresh graduates (0 to 1 year) with strong academic foundations, relevant coursework, or internships in digital design and formal/hardware verification.
- HDL Foundations: Hands-on experience with Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) including Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- RTL Comprehension: Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and trace Register-Transfer Level (RTL) code quickly and effectively.
- Assertion & Formal Logic: Solid conceptual understanding of temporal logic assertions, boolean algebra, and state-space exploration techniques.
- Abstraction Techniques: Familiarity with abstraction models, complexity reduction, and formal verification methodologies to address state-space explosion challenges.
