Role Summary
NewStreet is hiring a Software Engineer – DevOps with 1–2 years of experience to build and maintain the engineering pipeline used to deliver its platform. The role focuses on CI/CD automation, containerization, environment provisioning, deployment tooling, and infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities
- CI/CD Automation: Build and maintain automated pipelines for software build, testing, and deployment.
- Containerization: Develop and manage containerized application environments using Docker.
- Environment Provisioning: Automate the provisioning and configuration of development, testing, and production environments.
- Deployment Tooling: Build and maintain tools that support reliable and repeatable application deployments.
- Infrastructure Engineering: Work with Linux-based infrastructure and cloud environments to support platform operations.
- Bug Fixing: Troubleshoot pipeline, infrastructure, and deployment issues and implement appropriate fixes.
- Testing: Write and maintain tests for DevOps tooling and automation.
- Module Ownership: Progress toward owning a DevOps module end to end within the first few quarters.
- Code Review: Participate in senior-engineer-led code reviews and incorporate feedback into implementations.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of professional DevOps or infrastructure experience.
- Education: B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent qualification.
- Linux: Working knowledge of Linux administration and command-line operations.
- Containers: Practical knowledge of Docker and containerized application environments.
- CI/CD: Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts.
- Version Control: Daily working knowledge of Git, including branching and pull requests.
- Scripting: Working knowledge of Python or shell scripting for automation.
- Cloud: Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
- Development: Ability to understand and contribute to unfamiliar codebases with appropriate guidance.
