Role Summary
NetApp is seeking a Software Engineer (SDET) to join its StorageGRID team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building scalable test automation and validating high-performance, reliable distributed storage systems supporting next-generation AI data lakes.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy: Own and drive end-to-end system testing strategies.
- Test Automation: Build scalable and efficient automation and regression frameworks.
- Test Coverage: Improve coverage across complex distributed system workflows.
- Non-Functional Testing: Lead performance, reliability, scalability, concurrency, and failover testing.
- Shift-Left Quality: Collaborate with development teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate failures and drive continuous improvements in product quality.
- Quality Leadership: Mentor SDET teams and improve automation and testing practices.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing and engineering, with 5–7 years preferred.
- Strong experience in system testing and test automation using Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, networking, Linux, AWS, and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD, Agile development, and scalable test frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in performance, concurrency, reliability, and failover testing.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience with large-scale storage or distributed platforms is preferred.
- Exposure to chaos testing, workload modelling, or AI-driven testing is a plus.
