Role Summary
Nationwide is seeking a Senior Engineer - Java to join the Financial Technology Annuity team based in HITEC City, Madhapur, Hyderabad. In this full-time role, you will design, build, and support business-critical enterprise applications across web, API, and batch-oriented systems within a hybrid setup. Working closely with cross-functional architects and engineering teams, you will leverage Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and AI-enabled development tools to drive operational stability and deliver resilient financial products.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Engineering: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust web services, RESTful APIs, and batch processing systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and maintain cloud-native applications utilizing AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes orchestration, and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- System Reliability: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production integration issues using disciplined root-cause analysis and application monitoring tools.
- Secure Delivery: Embed DevSecOps principles and vulnerability management practices across the software development lifecycle to protect systems from security risks.
- AI-Assisted Innovation: Responsibly adopt enterprise AI-enabled development and testing tools to optimize coding efficiency, automate unit testing, and refactor legacy codebases.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent technical certification.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of software development experience delivering scalable enterprise applications in an Agile environment.
- Core Technical Skills: Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, RESTful APIs, AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD Automation.
- Key Methodologies: Agile/Scrum Development, DevSecOps Practices, Root-Cause Analysis, and Secure SDLC Standards.
- Preferred Capabilities: Familiarity with Python, Angular, IBM ACE, COBOL, or prior domain experience within insurance and annuity financial services.
