Role Summary
MongoDB is seeking an Associate Technical Services Engineer II to join our global engineering support team in Bengaluru in a hybrid working model. In this technical role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to MongoDB's largest enterprise customers. You will diagnose complex architectural, performance, and operational issues across distributed database deployments, troubleshoot MongoDB drivers and storage engines, optimize query plans, and contribute directly to diagnostic automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Complex Architectural Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve critical incidents across large-scale distributed deployments, replica sets, and sharded clusters spanning on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Performance Tuning & Diagnostics: Analyze database execution plans, slow queries, lock contention, memory allocation, and I/O bottlenecks to deliver actionable performance tuning guidance.
- Cloud & Ecosystem Advisory: Support enterprise customers running on MongoDB Atlas and Cloud Manager, addressing security configurations, automated backups, network peering, and high availability.
- Product Advocacy & Escalations: Interface directly with MongoDB core engineering and product management to escalate complex bugs and represent customer technical requirements.
- Tooling & Internal Software Development: Develop and enhance internal diagnostics, benchmarking suites, and automation scripts to accelerate root-cause analysis.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of solid technical experience in database administration, systems engineering, or enterprise technical support.
- Core Stack: Strong understanding of relational or NoSQL database architectures, Linux/Unix system administration, network layers (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, TCP/IP), and performance benchmarking.
- Nice to Have: Programming or scripting experience in Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, C++, or Node.js, along with experience managing resources on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Professional Competencies: Exceptional analytical troubleshooting under pressure, clear stakeholder communication, and high intellectual curiosity.
