Role Summary
MongoDB Professional Services (PS) is seeking an Application Engineer (Application Delivery Consultant) to join our team in Bengaluru in a hybrid working model. In this customer-facing consulting role, you will work within agile pods to modernize legacy relational SQL-based Java enterprise systems and migrate them to modern, cloud-native architectures powered by MongoDB. You will leverage modern Generative AI tooling and acceleration playbooks to refactor monolithic architectures, optimize database queries, and drive high-impact data platform modernization for Fortune 500 and enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Modernization & Migration: Partner with client engineering teams to refactor and migrate legacy relational SQL backends (Java/Spring Boot) to MongoDB document and distributed cloud architectures.
- GenAI Acceleration: Apply, test, and innovate Generative AI-powered migration tools, prompt-driven code refactoring, and automated playbooks to accelerate database transition lifecycles.
- System Redesign & Query Optimization: Assist in data modeling, query optimization, schema refactoring, and code debugging across Java, Hibernate/JPA, and relational database layers.
- Agile Delivery & Consulting: Participate in sprint planning, architecture reviews, backlog grooming, and post-migration validation to guarantee resilient, high-performance customer solutions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex database transformation architectures to both technical engineers and business stakeholders while mentoring project team members.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of hands-on software development experience with core Java, relational database systems, and enterprise frameworks.
- Core Stack: Solid foundation in Java programming, relational SQL databases (stored procedures, schema design), Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, Git version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on familiarity with MongoDB or NoSQL databases, GenAI APIs (e.g., OpenAI models), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker/Kubernetes, and Python scripting.
- Professional Competencies: Fast learner with strong analytical debugging habits, client consulting orientation, and clear cross-functional communication skills.
