Role Summary
Microsoft is seeking aspiring, passionate graduates for the Software Engineer Apprenticeship program across multiple locations in India. In this fully on-site apprenticeship, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams worldwide to solve complex technical challenges and engineer innovative software solutions. You will translate end-user requirements into scalable code, adopt modern development tools and methodologies, and build next-generation software solutions that empower organizations and individuals across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Development & Implementation: Design, write, test, and maintain robust code using languages and web technologies such as Java, Python, and HTML5, aligning with enterprise design specifications.
- Engineering Best Practices: Adhere to software engineering standards, incorporating modular design, reusability, proper exception handling, and thorough technical documentation for code and test cases.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and fellow engineers to understand business contexts and translate user requirements into technical deliverables.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate software reliability, functionality, and performance prior to release.
- Continuous Learning & System Health: Adopt emerging development practices, participate in code reviews, and explore methods to improve product availability, scalability, observability, and operational efficiency.
Eligibility & Key Qualifications
- Eligibility: Candidates who graduated in 2026 with no active backlogs and who have not held full-time employment prior to applying.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative technical field.
- Experience: Fresher (2026 Batch).
- Core Technical Competencies: Solid understanding of core Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts.
- Programming Proficiency: Foundational development and debugging knowledge in modern programming languages such as Java or Python, alongside web technologies like HTML5.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical reasoning, growth mindset, time management, and ability to thrive in a cooperative team environment.
