Role Overview
Michael Page is recruiting for a Senior Storage Engineer on behalf of a leading Industrial Automation Global Capability Center (GCC) based in Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India. In this technical infrastructure role, you will oversee, optimize, and support enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments. The position centers on maintaining high-availability storage platforms powered by NetApp and IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC), driving storage capacity forecasting, managing enterprise backup operations, and rapidly remediating storage-level incidents across critical manufacturing and industrial systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Enterprise Storage Administration: Configure, maintain, and administer enterprise SAN and NAS systems to ensure uninterrupted data availability across critical workloads.
- Platform Operations: Manage daily operations, provisioning, and performance optimization for NetApp storage systems and IBM SVC virtualization environments.
- Capacity Planning & Monitoring: Track storage utilization metrics, project volume growth trends, and execute expansion activities to prevent service degradation.
- Backup & Recovery Management: Oversee scheduled backup execution, validate data protection policies, and conduct prompt data restore procedures during recovery events.
- Alert Remediation & Incident Triage: Investigate storage thresholds, hardware faults, and backup alert telemetry to swiftly restore degraded services within established SLAs.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain precise configuration inventories, operational runbooks, change management documentation, and storage architecture records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 5 to 9 years of dedicated hands-on experience in enterprise storage engineering and infrastructure management.
- Platform Expertise: Proven technical proficiency administering and troubleshooting NetApp storage filers and IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC) environments.
- Storage Architectures: Strong practical understanding of SAN and NAS architectures, zoning, LUN mapping, and network protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC).
- Data Protection: Demonstrated competence managing enterprise backup operations, scheduling, and disaster recovery processes.
- Operational Problem Solving: Strong track record in storage-level incident management, capacity optimization, and root cause analysis.
