Role Summary
Mavenir is looking for an experienced System Testing Engineer - PCF to join our cloud-native network software engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will lead end-to-end system testing, validation, and performance verification for the 5G Core Policy Control Function (PCF). You will decode 3GPP specifications into comprehensive test architectures, execute complex verification suites across containerized Kubernetes environments, and automate testing workflows to ensure carrier-grade performance and reliability for global telecom operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Design & Standards Compliance: Review 3GPP specifications, system architecture designs, and call flows to build rigorous, comprehensive system test plans for 5G Core Policy Control Function (PCF).
- End-to-End System Execution: Plan and execute functional, load, resilience, and performance testing for PCF network functions within virtualized and containerized environments.
- Test Automation & Scripting: Develop and execute automated test suites using Python and Bash scripts integrated with containerized Kubernetes workloads.
- DevOps & Quality Engineering: Partner with cross-functional development and systems teams within CI/CD pipelines to isolate defects, track resolutions, and verify complete release coverage.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of system testing and verification experience in telecom, 4G/5G mobile core networks, or network functions virtualization.
- Core Stack: 5G Core architecture, Policy Control Function (PCF), 3GPP technical standards, system test methodology, Kubernetes, Docker, and Python/Bash scripting.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with Network Function Virtualization (NFV), cloud-native telecom orchestration, and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Professional Competencies: Strong root-cause debugging skills in high-throughput network environments, disciplined documentation, and collaborative team communication.
