Role Summary
Mastercard (Ethoca) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its engineering center in Pune, Maharashtra. In this full-lifecycle engineering and quality architecture role, you will work within an agile cross-functional team building global, high-scale fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and payment collaboration platforms. You will design and build automated validation frameworks from scratch, write scalable services (Java/Python/JavaScript), drive shift-left testing practices, validate data engineering pipelines using DBT and SQL, and mentor junior engineers across the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Feature Delivery: Estimate, design, develop, test, and deploy microservices and cloud-native applications supporting Ethoca’s merchant and issuer product suite.
- Automation & Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable automated validation frameworks from the ground up for REST APIs, UI components, and event-driven architectures.
- Engineering & Shift-Left Excellence: Review code, test architecture, and automation scripts while participating in design reviews to embed quality-focused practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Data Pipeline & API Validation: Conduct data accuracy and reliability testing across data pipelines using Data Build Tool (DBT) and execute complex SQL validation queries.
- CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Drive continuous integration and deployment pipeline execution using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on software engineering and test automation experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Core Programming: Proficiency in modern object-oriented or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Automation & Testing Stack: Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, or Postman.
- Architecture & Data Knowledge: Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, SQL data analysis, and DBT (Data Build Tool) testing.
