Role Summary
Lumen Technologies is hiring a Sr Lead Data Consultant - India for its engineering center in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In this enterprise data platform leadership role, you will lead the architecture, design, and modernization of cloud data platforms using Microsoft Fabric. You will drive large-scale data migration initiatives, implement real-time streaming architectures, architect Medallion data lakes, and establish enterprise-wide data governance and Purview frameworks to empower AI/ML workloads and advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Microsoft Fabric Leadership: Architect, deploy, and govern enterprise-scale data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, managing OneLake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse workloads while driving platform adoption and cost optimization.
- Data Migration & Pipeline Engineering: Lead large-scale data migrations from legacy databases to Microsoft Fabric using Data Factory Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, PySpark notebooks, and Change Data Capture (CDC) streaming frameworks.
- Real-Time Intelligence & Streaming: Build scalable event-driven streaming solutions using Fabric Real-Time Intelligence, Eventstreams, KQL, Apache Kafka, and Azure Event Hubs.
- Analytics & Medallion Architecture: Design modern Medallion Architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and build scalable Power BI semantic models leveraging Direct Lake storage mode.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Implement Microsoft Purview for data lineage tracking, metadata cataloging, data quality frameworks, and security compliance enforcement.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
- Experience: 12–16 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Platform Development (with 5+ years dedicated to cloud analytics architectures).
- Core Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse architecture, PySpark, Advanced SQL, Data Factory, Kafka, and Azure Event Hubs.
- Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) or Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-700).
- Leadership: Proven track record of guiding enterprise data migrations, application decommissioning programs, and technical governance frameworks.
