Role Summary
London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Offensive Security Operations (OSO) team. The role focuses on automating security operations, developing custom tools, and reducing cybersecurity risks in a cloud-native environment primarily based on AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Software Development: Build, maintain, and deliver automation solutions and custom security tools within agreed timelines.
- Testing: Perform unit, integration, behavioral, and user acceptance testing to ensure solution quality.
- Documentation: Maintain design documents and technical documentation to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.
- Security Integration: Integrate security controls into development workflows, existing tools, and the software development lifecycle.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Manage cloud resources and infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Process Automation: Automate high-impact security checks and improve operational efficiency.
- Quality Improvement: Evaluate and improve software quality, security processes, policies, and documentation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate progress, gather feedback, and explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply lessons learned and industry developments to improve security operations and engineering practices.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Python 3.7+ and Vue.js 2 or 3.
- Experience with API development using Flask or similar technologies.
- Experience developing CLI tools using Cleo or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of unit, integration, behavioral, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience maintaining the complete software development lifecycle.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies and cloud hosting solutions, preferably AWS.
- Experience with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting and containerization.
- Exposure to software architectures and RDBMS or NoSQL databases, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Git repository management, including GitLab or Git.
- Experience with static analysis tools and CI/CD.
- Understanding of UI/UX and common security vulnerabilities and software engineering flaws.
- Knowledge of Azure or Microsoft Graph API is an advantage.
