Role Summary
London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is hiring a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer to support its next-generation capital markets data platform across its engineering hubs in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. In this mission-critical role, you will architect, optimize, and maintain high-performance Linux data capture systems responsible for ingesting, storing, and transforming massive real-time financial market streams worldwide. You will automate server infrastructure using Ansible, configure CI/CD pipelines in GitLab/GitHub, optimize system latency, manage containerized workloads, and ensure zero-downtime application deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain complex Ansible playbooks and roles for automated server provisioning, configuration management, and OS patching.
- Linux Kernel & Performance Tuning: Perform OS-level latency and performance tuning on enterprise RHEL distributions (RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux) hosting real-time data capture applications.
- Containerization & Pipeline Management: Design, deploy, and manage containerized microservices using Docker/Podman while managing Git-based CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and GitHub.
- Cloud & Network Analysis: Manage data pipelines across AWS (S3, AWS CLI, Rsync) and utilize network tools like Wireshark and tcpdump for packet inspection and troubleshooting.
- Operational Support: Oversee task scheduling, system daemons, deployment risk mitigation, and continuous system monitoring. Note: Requires working US Eastern hours for the initial 6 months and occasional weekend deployment support.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Linux Experience: 5 to 7+ years of hands-on Linux system administration and DevOps experience, focusing on RHEL or RHEL-derived distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux).
- Scripting & Automation: 5+ years of proficiency with Bash and/or Python scripting alongside deep Ansible automation experience.
- Container & Cloud Stack: Hands-on production experience with Docker/Podman, AWS cloud storage/CLI, and Git-based CI/CD workflows.
- Nice to Have: Knowledge of global capital markets data protocols, multicast-based market data distribution, and ultra-low-latency network engineering.
