Role Summary
KLA is looking for a Software Quality Engineer – Automation & AI in Chennai to qualify software products and develop automation solutions that improve test coverage and efficiency. The role combines software quality engineering and test automation with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and modern AI frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Qualification: Qualify new and existing software products and features through functional, regression, performance, reliability, and system-level testing.
- Test Planning: Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and validation strategies to ensure product quality.
- Test Automation: Assess automation feasibility and develop automated test solutions, frameworks, and tools to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Test Analysis: Analyze test results and publish qualification reports, recommendations, training materials, and Best Known Methods.
- AI Innovation: Leverage Generative AI and AI-powered tools to improve test design, execution, defect analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- AI Development: Develop AI-enabled utilities and productivity tools and explore solutions using LLMs, AI agents, and modern AI frameworks.
- SDLC Collaboration: Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, deployment, troubleshooting, customer support, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Customer Support: Travel to customer fabrication facilities when required for use-case understanding, software deployment, and troubleshooting.
Key Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Master's degree with 0 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience.
- Programming: Strong programming skills in Python, C#, C++, or Java.
- Testing: Experience with software testing, automation frameworks, and quality engineering methodologies.
- AI: Exposure to AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, AI agents, or AI application development is preferred.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
