Role Summary
KLA is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join its semiconductor technology organization in Chennai. The role involves developing and deploying software components, troubleshooting system issues, contributing to software quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams supporting advanced semiconductor inspection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Develop software components and deploy them across multiple nodes while managing multiple parallel software instances.
- Project Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement project requirements and deliver solutions within defined timelines.
- Issue Resolution: Triage software issues, identify root causes, debug problems, and implement fixes with fast turnaround.
- Technical Quality: Conduct code reviews, provide actionable feedback, and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Documentation: Contribute to documentation and knowledge bases to improve resolution times for quality, customer support, and global service teams.
- Technology Development: Keep up with industry trends, technologies, and software development best practices.
Key Qualifications
- Education: MS/MTech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Programming: Strong object-oriented programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
- Communication: Knowledge of inter-process communication techniques and tools including gRPC, REST, GraphQL, Protobuf, and JSON.
- Containers & Automation: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, shell scripting, and Ansible for automation.
- Databases: Experience or knowledge of SQL Server, SQLite, MongoDB, Prometheus, or InfluxDB is desirable.
- Observability: Familiarity with observability tools and practices including OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Elastic, Kibana, and Logstash.
- Frontend: Experience with Angular or React is an added advantage.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
