Role Summary
JPMorganChase is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Software Engineer II to join our Payments Technology team within the Commercial & Investment Bank in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (Embassy Tech Village). In this full-time role, you will be part of an agile team tasked with designing, developing, and enhancing secure, highly scalable software components that power the firm’s state-of-the-art payment products. You will engineer full-stack solutions using Java, React, and AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging modern enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools while upholding rigorous standards in data security, application resiliency, and code quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Stack Engineering: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable software components and user interfaces utilizing Java, React, and AWS cloud services.
- AI-Assisted Development: Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and engineering productivity (code generation, refactoring, unit test creation, documentation) while validating outputs via peer reviews and secure coding practices.
- Systems Troubleshooting: Apply structured technical troubleshooting to resolve complex technical challenges across upstream and downstream payment services, ensuring operational stability.
- SDLC & DevOps Automation: Apply modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchains, support automated CI/CD pipelines, and embed application resiliency and security controls into production workflows.
- Data-Driven Diagnostics: Analyze large, diverse operational and application datasets to diagnose defects and support technical decision-making for secure, stable application delivery.
- Agile Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional engineering leads, product managers, and agile team members to iterate rapidly and deliver mission-critical software solutions.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field (or formal training/certification on software engineering concepts).
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on professional software development experience in an enterprise engineering environment.
- Core Technical Proficiency: Practical hands-on experience in Java Full Stack development, modern React, and AWS cloud services.
- Database & Code Quality: Strong background in developing, debugging, and maintaining code with relational database querying languages (SQL) and modern programming syntax.
- AI Tooling & Responsible Practices: Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools with a solid understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling of inputs and outputs.
- Preferred Capabilities: Familiarity with Java 17+, microservices deployed on AWS EKS/ECS, Terraform infrastructure as code, and enterprise RDBMS platforms (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
