Role Summary
IQVIA is seeking an Associate Software Engineer (Quality Assurance & Testing) to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Operating in a hybrid model that blends remote work flexibility with on-site collaboration, this role focuses on ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of web applications and compliance software deployed across global healthcare and life sciences client engagements. You will author test plans, execute manual and automated test scripts, track defects, and partner closely with cross-functional development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Planning: Review business and software requirements to contribute to test estimation, planning, and strategy for client implementation projects.
- Test Case Authoring & Execution: Design, write, and execute comprehensive test scenarios and test cases covering manual and automated testing for web-based applications.
- Defect Tracking & Troubleshooting: Log, triage, track, and re-test software defects; collaborate with developers and tech leads to ensure swift defect resolution and root cause elimination.
- Automation Scope Identification: Execute test scripts and actively identify opportunities for test automation to improve release velocity and testing efficiency.
- SDLC Collaboration: Work closely with Developers, Technical Leads, Business Analysts, and Project Managers within an Agile/Scrum environment to clear blockers and mitigate delivery risks.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (High School Diploma or equivalent minimum requirement).
- Experience: At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and testing, with direct experience testing web application projects.
- Core Technical Skills: Test plan creation, test case design, manual/functional testing, test script execution, defect management tools (such as JIRA), and web application architectures.
- Key Methodologies: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum framework, Test Estimation, and Risk Mitigation.
- Preferred Capabilities: Familiarity with test automation frameworks, API testing, and exposure to compliance-driven software in the healthcare or life sciences domain.
