UNIX SQL Production Support Engineer

Role Summary

Infosys Limited is hiring a UNIX SQL Production Support Engineer for its Application Development and Maintenance service line in Bangalore. In this L2/L3 production support role, you will monitor production systems, manage SLAs, investigate production incidents, analyze Linux/UNIX logs, and execute SQL queries for data verification and reporting. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure, database, and development teams to resolve recurring issues, support deployments, and manage batch job runs.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Incident Management: Monitor critical enterprise applications, investigate outages/incidents, and resolve tickets within established SLA timelines.
• UNIX & SQL Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis using UNIX/Linux system logs and write SQL queries for data validation, investigation, and reporting.
• Operations & Batch Monitoring: Execute daily health checks, monitor automated batch jobs, track system interfaces, and support production releases/change requests.
• Documentation & On-Call Support: Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), contribute to knowledge bases, and participate in on-call support rotations and Major Incident Management (MIM) calls.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech), BCA, MCA, or M.Tech degree in Computer Science, IT, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in production support or application maintenance.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: UNIX/Linux server navigation, log analysis, SQL query execution, and Incident/SLA management processes.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), UNIX storage administration concepts, and shell scripting.
