Role Summary

IBM India is hiring an entry-level Software Developer for its Chief Information Officer (CIO) Business Platform Transformation team in Bangalore, Karnataka. In this hybrid engineering role, you will design, write, test, and maintain efficient software applications and internal tools that power IBM's enterprise digital transformation. You will write clean code across modern backend (Java, C++, Python) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js), write unit test suites, manage database interactions, and work with CI/CD delivery pipelines in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, build, and maintain clean, modular, and performant code using object-oriented languages (Java, C++, Python) and web frameworks.
• Testing & Debugging: Conduct unit testing, functional debugging, and root cause analysis to resolve software defects and ensure high operational reliability.
• Database Management: Write efficient SQL queries and interface with relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Code Quality & CI/CD: Participate in peer code reviews, adhere to secure coding standards, and deploy updates through Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and tech leads to deliver software features according to project timelines.

Key Qualifications

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / M.C.A. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience: 0–2 years (Entry-level position suitable for fresh graduates and early-career developers).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Java/C++/Python), modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue.js), SQL/NoSQL databases, and Git version control.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and effective verbal and written technical communication skills.
