Role Overview
IBM Consulting is seeking an experienced, versatile Application Developer: Cloud FullStack to join our FutureNow Center in Bangalore, Karnataka, India (Hybrid). In this professional software engineering role, you will design, engineer, and deploy resilient, cloud-native enterprise applications using microservices design patterns. Operating across front-end user interfaces, back-end business logic, and API middleware layers, you will integrate leading web and cloud technologies—including Java/Spring, modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular/React), API gateways, and distributed databases—to accelerate digital transformation and cloud modernization for global clients.
Core Responsibilities
- Cloud Application Engineering: Architect, develop, and deploy cloud-native full-stack solutions and microservices, integrating front-end, back-end, and middleware tiers.
- Full Stack Implementation: Build rich, responsive web interfaces using Angular, React, HTML5, and CSS3, while engineering secure, high-concurrency back-end microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Groovy.
- Data Persistence: Design data models and implement efficient persistence layers across both relational (RDBMS) and distributed NoSQL database platforms.
- API Integration & Middleware: Construct and consume REST/SOA web services and manage enterprise APIs utilizing gateway platforms such as Apigee and IBM API Connect.
- DevOps & Infrastructure Automation: Utilize modern DevOps methodologies, automated CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools to streamline code testing, release automation, and deployment cycles.
- Cloud Environment Governance: Partner with senior technical specialists to configure and maintain scalable cloud environments, ensuring high availability, network security, and fine-grained access controls.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development and cloud-native application engineering.
- Back-End Competence: Deep expertise in core Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and ORM frameworks, with exposure to Groovy or related JVM technologies.
- Front-End Competence: Demonstrated experience creating modern dynamic web applications with Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- API & Architecture Patterns: Solid grounding in microservices design patterns, distributed architecture, RESTful API design, and enterprise service integration (Apigee / API Connect).
- Database Systems: Practical experience handling data modeling, querying, and tuning in both RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- DevOps & Security: Familiarity with containerization, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud network/identity security controls.
