Role Summary
IBM Consulting is hiring a Data Engineer-Data Platforms-Databricks for its FutureNow Center in Kolkata. Operating under a hybrid work arrangement, you will build, enhance, and optimize the Databricks platform to implement large-scale Data and AI use cases for global enterprise clients. You will drive cloud data processing, data storage and retrieval, and cloud application integration to accelerate hybrid cloud and AI transformations.
Key Responsibilities
- Databricks Platform Engineering: Design, build, and enhance scalable Databricks platforms to support enterprise Data and AI solutions.
- Data & AI Use Case Implementation: Implement complex data processing pipelines, cloud data storage models, and AI workloads on Databricks with optimal performance.
- Cloud Migration & Integration: Collaborate on migrating legacy data platforms to cloud-based Databricks infrastructure, ensuring smooth data retrieval and integration.
- Client Collaboration: Partner directly with client stakeholders to understand data requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver high-impact analytics solutions.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of dedicated experience in Data Engineering and cloud platform implementation.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Databricks platform architecture, core data engineering principles, cloud data processing, storage, and retrieval systems.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Cloud data migration frameworks, AI model deployment on Databricks, and Red Hat/IBM hybrid cloud integration.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong technical collaboration, client-facing communication, analytical problem-solving, and a continuous learning mindset.
