Role Summary
Huron Consulting Group is looking for a proactive Product Support Engineer (Technical Consultant) to join our enterprise software support organization in Bangalore, Karnataka, India (Outer Ring Road - Hybrid). In this role, you will deliver in-depth technical assistance to higher education institutions, academic medical centers, and research organizations utilizing Huron's proprietary Research Suite software. You will investigate, analyze, and resolve complex application issues, maintain client-specific system configurations, collaborate with Huron engineering squads to resolve underlying product defects, and help drive continuous improvements across internal support tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Tiered Technical Support: Provide deep technical support for Huron’s Research Suite software via remote web sessions, phone calls, and ticketing queues.
- Issue Analysis & Defect Resolution: Research, analyze, and isolate client-reported technical defects; collaborate closely with core engineering teams to address software bugs and eliminate support burdens.
- Client Configuration & Customization: Modify, configure, and maintain client-specific configurations, customizations, and environmental setups.
- System Diagnostics & Log Analysis: Inspect and analyze IIS logs, Windows Event Logs, SMTP communications, and custom application traces to troubleshoot multi-tier web application errors.
- Infrastructure & Best Practice Consulting: Consult with clients and Huron implementation services teams on optimal hardware, database, and software environment configurations.
- Process Automation: Create and refine internal diagnostic tools, job aids, and knowledge base documentation to elevate support team efficiency, assisting with 24/7 on-call coverage as needed.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in customer-facing software support, technical application consulting, or enterprise production support.
- Core Technical Skills: Solid ability to read and write Object-Oriented code, with hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Platform Expertise: Practical familiarity with the Microsoft enterprise stack, including Windows Server environments, IIS web servers, and Visual Studio.
- Preferred Capabilities: Working familiarity with C# and .NET frameworks, version control concepts (Git), and diagnosing complex enterprise-class, multi-tier web applications.
