Role Summary
HSBC is hiring an Apprentice for a 12-month opportunity within its Commercial Banking division. The role focuses on credit and lending servicing, client relationship support, risk management, operational controls, and improving customer experience across corporate and institutional banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit and Lending Operations: Manage the end-to-end credit and lending servicing journey to support customers and internal stakeholders.
- Business Performance: Deliver business control office tasks in line with agreed objectives, service-level agreements, and key performance indicators.
- Risk Management: Support credit risk assessment and maintain appropriate controls to protect the bank.
- Client Engagement: Participate in deal discussions and meetings with clients and credit risk teams as required.
- Process Improvement: Improve productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experience through process and technology initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build effective relationships with business teams, risk partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Compliance: Follow internal control standards and support the timely implementation of audit recommendations and resolution of identified issues.
- Management Information: Work with the team lead to maintain management information and monitor risks against agreed thresholds.
- Training: Complete required training initiatives, including Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and assessments.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of commercial banking, credit risk, and lending operations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to complete mandatory Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and assessments.
Apprenticeship Details
- Duration: One year under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and applicable apprenticeship rules.
- Registration: Apprentices will be registered on the NATS portal.
- Completion: A Certificate of Proficiency may be issued by the Government of India, subject to applicable requirements.
