Role Summary
Hitachi Energy is seeking an Application Specialist to support Manufacturing IT systems and data-driven manufacturing processes in Chennai. The role focuses on ETL/ELT processes, SQL, Power BI reporting, quality-card development, feature implementation, testing, and business analysis activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Integration: Develop and support Extract, Transform, and Load processes for integrating data from SQL databases.
- Reporting & Visualization: Design and develop data visualizations and reports using Power BI Report Builder.
- Feature Development: Develop, test, and implement new features related to the assigned manufacturing task area.
- Quality Reporting: Design and develop quality cards and associated reports to improve business data quality.
- Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries and reports to efficiently retrieve and display data.
- Business Analysis: Gather and analyze requirements and work closely with key business users during implementation.
- Testing Coordination: Coordinate testing activities and communicate implementation updates with business stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation covering methodologies, findings, processes, and implementation activities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
- Compliance: Follow applicable internal and external regulations, procedures, guidelines, and Hitachi Energy's safety and integrity standards.
Key Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and ETL processes.
- Experience with Power BI Report Builder and SSRS reporting.
- Experience in data visualization and reporting.
- Knowledge of SQL query and report optimization.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and macros.
- Basic knowledge of C#, Visual Studio, or Power Automate is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and handle business requirements during implementation.
