Role Summary
Hexaware is hiring a Test Analyst (SDET) - API Automation for its quality engineering practice in India. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks and scripts spanning UI, API, and database layers. Utilizing Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript, you will execute automated and manual test suites, integrate test automation into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, champion shift-left testing practices, and ensure high-quality software releases within an Agile/Scrum delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Framework & Scripting: Build, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks and end-to-end test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Full-Stack Test Execution: Perform comprehensive functional, regression, exploratory, API, and database verification across multi-tier enterprise applications.
- CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps pipelines (Repos, Pipelines, Boards) to drive continuous testing and early defect detection.
- Defect Lifecycle & Agile Practice: Log, track, and triage defects, participate actively in all Scrum ceremonies, and collaborate with developers to implement shift-left quality methodologies.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering, test automation (SDET), and API testing.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, hands-on test automation experience with Playwright, API testing using HTTP libraries, database validation, and Agile/Scrum delivery principles.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines), continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines, and shift-left quality practices.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong defect analysis and diagnostic capabilities, proactive collaboration with engineering teams, and detail-oriented execution.
