Role Summary
Hevo Data is seeking an energetic, analytical Associate Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern to join our Backend Engineering team on-site in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. In this internship role, you will work closely with experienced engineering mentors to design and implement SaaS connectors, integrate RESTful APIs, and optimize data pipeline flows across our real-time data integration platform. Additionally, you will build internal productivity tools leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to empower cross-functional business teams, gaining hands-on software development experience across large-scale distributed architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- SaaS Connector Implementation: Develop application-specific connectors to ingest data from third-party platforms, navigating authentication mechanisms (such as Basic Auth) and schema variations.
- REST API Development: Assist in building modular, maintainable REST API endpoints, focusing on clean code standards and rigorous testing.
- AI-Driven Internal Tools: Build and deploy internal AI-powered tools and automations to assist business teams in streamlining operational workflows.
- Pipeline Debugging & Optimization: Troubleshoot runtime defects, resolve schema mismatches, and optimize data pipeline execution under the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Task Breakdown & Documentation: Participate in agile sprint ceremonies, assist in feature breakdowns, author clean code, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical degree from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Freshers with practical software development project experience or prior internships in integrations, backend services, or data engineering tools.
- Core Technical Skills: Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms, with proficiency in Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- API & Data Fundamentals: Foundational knowledge of RESTful architecture, HTTP communication, and JSON serialization/deserialization.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving aptitude, eagerness to master concurrency and performance fundamentals, and a passion for building AI-augmented software.
