Role Summary
HARMAN Automotive is seeking a skilled Software Engineer - C++ QT QML (Career Level T3-A) to join our engineering division at Kalyani Platina, Bengaluru. In this on-site role, you will develop, optimize, and maintain high-performance HMI applications and embedded software solutions for a premier German automotive OEM. Working on Linux platforms, you will design robust architectures using modern C++ standards, Qt, and QML, handling complex multithreading, network protocols, and full lifecycle delivery for Body Electronics and connected cockpit systems.
Key Responsibilities
- HMI & Application Engineering: Architect and build performant, modular user interfaces and core application logic using modern C++ (C++17/C++20), Qt, and QML on Linux platforms.
- Multithreading & Networking: Implement responsive, low-latency multithreaded systems, inter-process communication (IPC), and network socket communications.
- Technical Concept Delivery: Translate OEM requirements into scalable technical designs, prioritizing code efficiency, hardware resource limits, and software security.
- Code Quality & Agile Collaboration: Conduct thorough peer code reviews, enforce unit testing and quality gates, and collaborate within Agile/Scrum delivery cadences.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Deliver technical reporting, coordinate with global product teams, and drive engineering solutions across Body Electronics domain modules.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of solid hands-on software development experience with C++ and the Qt/QML framework, including complete lifecycle delivery of production applications.
- Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in C++ (modern standards), Qt framework, QML, Linux application development, multithreading, network programming, and Git.
- Nice to Have: Domain experience in automotive software (IVI, clusters, Body Electronics), cloud integrations (Azure), relational databases (SQL), or AI/ML pipelines.
- Professional Competencies: Analytical system debugging, familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), and strong collaboration with global engineering stakeholders.
