Role Summary
Goldman Sachs is seeking an Analyst Software Engineer to develop scalable and reliable software solutions within its Core Engineering division in Bengaluru. The role focuses on digital transformation, automation, modernizing software platforms, and solving complex data-related challenges involving data modeling, quality, warehousing, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Requirements Analysis: Understand business needs and translate them into process workflows, data requirements, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
- System Design: Develop high-level and detailed technical designs and define appropriate testing strategies.
- Full-Stack Engineering: Build applications using industry-standard frameworks, tools, and RESTful services.
- Data Engineering: Contribute to data modeling, data curation, data quality, warehousing, and analytics initiatives.
- Automation: Identify opportunities to increase automation and modernize and consolidate software technology stacks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build relationships with business partners and collaborate with global teams to deliver technology solutions.
- Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and adopt new technologies based on project and business requirements.
- Delivery Management: Manage activities across requirements analysis, coding, testing, UAT, deployment, and maintenance.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and core programming concepts.
- Strong programming experience in at least one compiled language such as Java or C++.
- Experience with continuous delivery and deployment.
- Full-stack development experience with technologies such as React, Spring Boot, DropWizard, Maven, and RESTful services.
- Knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases and database design.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and delivery skills.
- Experience working with financial services, Finance, Accounting, Controllers, or front-office technology is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-based large-scale data analytics platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with data catalog platforms such as Unity Catalog, Open Catalog, or Apache Polaris is preferred.
- Experience managing small to mid-size teams is preferred.
