Role Summary
GlobalLogic (a Hitachi Group Company) is seeking a skilled and hands-on Senior Java Backend Developer to join our enterprise IT applications development team in Hyderabad in a hybrid working arrangement. In this role, you will design, engineer, and deploy high-performance backend systems and modular microservices using Core Java (Java 8, 17, and 21) along with Spring Boot and Spring MVC. You will build secure REST APIs, optimize complex database persistence layers using Hibernate and relational SQL engines, manage CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins, and ensure high code quality through rigorous unit testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Microservices & Backend Engineering: Architect, implement, and maintain resilient microservices and enterprise backend services leveraging Java 8/17/21, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC frameworks.
- RESTful API & Gateway Integration: Build and expose secure, scalable RESTful APIs, configuring API gateway and routing mechanisms utilizing components like Netflix OSS (Zuul).
- Database Design & ORM Optimization: Design data models, write performant SQL queries, and implement object-relational mapping using Hibernate across MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle databases.
- CI/CD & Server Deployment: Deploy and configure applications on Apache Tomcat, automating build, test, and release workflows using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Quality Assurance & Mentorship: Maintain strong test coverage through JUnit automated testing, perform peer code reviews, triage production issues, and mentor junior software engineers.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of solid hands-on software development experience with a strong focus on enterprise Java applications and backend microservices.
- Core Stack: Proficiency in Core Java (Java 8/17/21), Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, REST APIs, SQL (Oracle/MySQL/MSSQL), Apache Tomcat, Jenkins, and JUnit.
- Nice to Have: Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), public cloud architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure), and modern API gateway tooling.
- Professional Competencies: Proven analytical problem-solving skills, proactive module ownership, clean coding mindset, and strong cross-functional communication within Agile teams.
