Role Summary
GlobalLogic (a Hitachi Group Company) is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer – Python to join our digital product engineering practice in Bengaluru in a hybrid work arrangement. In this role, you will design, architect, and scale high-performance backend systems and microservices leveraging Python (FastAPI and Django). You will develop secure RESTful APIs, optimize relational and analytical database architectures across MySQL and PostgreSQL, leverage AWS cloud infrastructure, and build resilient distributed systems designed for high availability and enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Microservices Engineering: Architect, implement, and maintain low-latency, scalable backend services using Python with FastAPI and Django frameworks.
- RESTful API Architecture: Design, secure, and document robust RESTful APIs with strict performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Data Modeling & Database Optimization: Model and tune relational data storage layers (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and interface with analytical or NoSQL data stores.
- Cloud & Distributed Systems: Deploy and maintain cloud-native systems on AWS, incorporating distributed systems patterns such as idempotency, circuit breakers, and retries.
- CI/CD & Operational Excellence: Automate deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines, conduct thorough code reviews, champion Pytest automated testing, and participate in observability and production monitoring.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of solid hands-on experience in backend engineering and distributed systems development.
- Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Python, FastAPI/Django, REST API design, relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), AWS cloud services, and CI/CD tools.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), Redis caching, Terraform, and AI/LLM integrations (LangChain or OpenAI APIs).
- Professional Competencies: Strong system design acumen, proactive problem-solving mindset, and clean software craftsmanship.
