Role Summary
GlobalLogic (a Hitachi Group Company) is seeking a detail-driven Engineer I – Automation QA to join our R&D Shared Services team in Bengaluru in a hybrid work arrangement. In this role, you will build, maintain, and scale test automation frameworks for enterprise media production and broadcast workflow solutions used globally by entertainment creators. You will design, develop, and execute automated regression and end-to-end integration suites using Selenium, Playwright, Java, and Python, ensuring zero-defect deliverables across multi-platform operating system environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Framework Engineering: Design, enhance, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and specialized testing tools using Java and Python.
- Test Script Design & Execution: Develop robust automated test scripts leveraging Selenium and Playwright to qualify end-to-end enterprise media workflows across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
- CI/CD & Defect Triaging: Integrate automated regression suites into continuous delivery pipelines via Jenkins, execute test runs, analyze failure reports, and conduct root-cause diagnostics.
- Defect Lifecycle & Collaboration: Log, track, and manage software defects using JIRA, working alongside developers, manual testers, and Scrum team members to drive timely remediations.
- Quality Scalability: Introduce modern testing methodologies and scalable test execution strategies to accelerate release cycles for broadcast software systems.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience building and executing test automation scripts in enterprise software environments.
- Core Stack: Proficiency in test automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright, solid programming skills in Java and Python, and familiarity with Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and multi-OS environments (Linux/Windows/macOS).
- Nice to Have: Hands-on exposure to VMware virtualization, multimedia/broadcast software suites, audio/video streaming codecs, and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Professional Competencies: Keen eye for detail, structured analytical problem-solving, and active collaboration within Agile/Scrum delivery models.
