Role Summary
GE HealthCare is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Digital Technology / IT division in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In this mid-career technical role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy automated data engineering pipelines and reporting solutions. Leveraging AWS cloud technologies, Python, and SQL, you will perform data profiling, establish data quality frameworks, manage metadata architectures, and incorporate low-code/no-code innovations to accelerate data analytics and data science outcomes across enterprise domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline & ETL Architecture: Build, test, and maintain automated Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines based on complex data mapping specifications and functional requirements.
- Cloud Data Engineering: Implement scalable cloud data solutions leveraging AWS services including Redshift, AWS Glue, RDS, S3, Step Functions, SageMaker, and Kinesis.
- Data Profiling & Quality: Perform data profiling across diverse source systems and target data repositories, implementing strict Data Quality (DQ) rules and data validation routines.
- Data Modeling & Metadata Management: Leverage data dictionaries, business glossaries, and logical/physical data models across both OLTP and OLAP architectures while standardizing data lineage.
- Automation & Developer Productivity: Incorporate low-code/no-code workflows and AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to streamline deployment cycles and optimize reporting data availability.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data modeling, and enterprise data warehousing.
- Core Technical Stack: Proficient in Python, Unix scripting, SQL (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), AWS Cloud Data Stack (Redshift, Glue, S3, RDS), and ETL development.
- Data Architecture: Strong grasp of big data storage architecture, streaming/NRT data processing, and handling structured/unstructured formats (XML, JSON).
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Kafka, Matillion, Informatica, or experience working with enterprise ERP/CRM/Finance datasets.
