Role Overview
Ford Motor Company has an open opportunity for a Fullstack Software Engineer within Enterprise Technology in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Hybrid). This role focuses on architecting and delivering end-to-end cloud-native enterprise products that enhance value and productivity for commercial operations. Working across modern frontend platforms (Angular, React.js, TypeScript), backend architectures (Java 11+, Spring Boot microservices), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), the role emphasizes Test-Driven Development (TDD), clean system design, and automated CI/CD pipelines to build scalable, resilient digital services.
Core Responsibilities
- Full Stack Engineering: Build responsive, performant web applications using Angular, React.js, and TypeScript, backed by scalable microservices and RESTful APIs developed with Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
- Test-Driven Development (TDD): Execute TDD practices across feature development by writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain a 90%+ code coverage threshold.
- Cloud-Native Deployment: Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform (or AWS), utilizing GCP App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
- Containerization & DevOps: Containerize microservices with Docker and Kubernetes, and implement automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.
- Data Modeling & Persistence: Implement data storage, persistence logic, and database schemas using PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Code Quality Standards: Enforce Clean Code principles, SOLID guidelines, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) through rigorous peer code reviews and static analysis tools like SonarQube.
- Agile Collaboration: Partner closely with product owners, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to define Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and execute rapid releases.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of software development experience delivering enterprise software solutions.
- Frontend Technologies: Strong hands-on proficiency in Angular, React.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Backend Technologies: Proven experience developing microservices with Java 11+ and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Cloud).
- Testing Frameworks: Direct experience applying TDD using frontend test tools (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright) and backend frameworks (JUnit 5, Mockito, TestContainers, Spring Boot Test).
- Cloud & DevOps: Practical experience deploying on GCP or AWS, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and automated CI/CD configuration.
- Databases: Solid working knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
