Role Summary
FIS is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Production Support team in Bengaluru, Karnataka or Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this full-time role operating on rotational shifts, you will deliver 24x7 production support for mission-critical financial applications and infrastructure. You will focus on service reliability, rapid incident remediation, observability, and building automation scripts to eliminate operational toil.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Operations: Provide 24x7 operational support for high-availability enterprise financial platforms, participating in rotational shifts, weekends, and on-call schedules.
- Incident & Problem Management: Perform end-to-end troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), emergency service restoration, and problem-management activities across complex systems.
- Toil Reduction & Automation: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated operational solutions using Python and Shell scripting to replace repetitive manual support tasks.
- System Observability: Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, and application availability using enterprise monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or NetXMS.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with network, infrastructure, and application engineering teams to optimize system resilience and ensure compliance with ITIL service management practices.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in production support, Linux systems administration, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Core Technical Skills: Linux/Unix Administration, Advanced Linux Commands, Shell Scripting, Python Development, and Network Switching/Protocols.
- Key Methodologies: Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), SRE Best Practices, Service Restoration, and Operational Excellence.
- Preferred Capabilities: Working knowledge of monitoring suites (Splunk, Dynatrace, NetXMS), ITIL processes, DevOps tooling, and cloud computing platforms.
