Role Overview
EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Data Software Engineer to join its Data Software Engineering practice in Hyderabad, India (Hybrid). In this senior data engineering role, you will architect, implement, and optimize scalable, secure data platforms to solve complex business challenges. Operating across multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure) and leveraging advanced big data processing frameworks including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Hive, you will collaborate with global engineering squads to build modern enterprise data solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Data Solution Architecture: Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end distributed data pipelines and analytical processing systems tailored to complex client specifications.
- Big Data & Cloud Engineering: Implement high-throughput data processing workflows using Apache Spark and Python across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Platform Optimization & Scaling: Continuously monitor and enhance data application performance, data throughput, computational efficiency, and architectural scalability.
- Security & Best Practices: Embed data security standards, access governance, and clean software engineering principles across all data processing lifecycles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with project managers, solution architects, and multi-disciplinary teams across global delivery locations to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 5 to 8 years of dedicated hands-on experience in data software engineering and large-scale data processing platforms.
- Big Data Frameworks: Advanced hands-on proficiency in Apache Spark for batch and stream processing, alongside practical experience with Hadoop and Hive ecosystems.
- Programming: Strong software engineering foundation with extensive programming expertise in Python.
- Cloud Platforms: Proven experience working with cloud data architectures and managed services across both AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Engineering Best Practices: Solid grasp of distributed computing principles, performance profiling, and agile development methodologies.
