Role Summary
DXC Technology is hiring an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our Data Sciences practice in Hyderabad. In this role, you will lead the architecture, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data platforms and streaming architectures on Microsoft Azure. You will build resilient ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, orchestrate cloud data lake solutions with ADLS, execute complex data analytics using PySpark and SQL, and implement CI/CD automation to deliver high-quality data products for global enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Data Pipeline Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain enterprise batch and real-time streaming data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Event Hubs, and Stream Analytics.
- Data Lake & Lakehouse Engineering: Design and manage performant data storage layers across Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS), Delta Lake, and enterprise warehouses like Snowflake or SQL Server.
- Data Transformation & Processing: Develop optimized distributed computing logic and analytical data models utilizing Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Unix shell scripting.
- Cloud Automation & DevOps: Streamline build and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) governance.
- Operational Excellence: Implement robust telemetry, performance tuning, and incident monitoring with Azure Functions and Azure Data Explorer (KQL), ensuring platform uptime and strict SLA adherence.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 6 to 18 years of total IT experience, including a minimum of 4 years dedicated to large-scale data engineering and cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Lake Storage, SQL analytics, Python, and Azure DevOps.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Explorer (Kusto/KQL), NoSQL stores (Cassandra, MongoDB), Azure Stream Analytics, and Terraform.
- Professional Competencies: Proven ability to lead technical design in Agile/Scrum settings, troubleshoot distributed cloud bottlenecks, and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary global teams.
