Role Summary
Dell Technologies is seeking an experienced .NET Software Engineer (SRE / DevOps) to join our Software Engineer-IT team across Bengaluru, Karnataka and Hyderabad, Telangana, India. In this role, you will design, develop, and support scalable backend microservices and APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core while driving Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps best practices. Managing a portfolio of 90+ enterprise applications across Dell Digital Services, you will oversee application stability, observability, automated CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure modernization across cloud and containerized environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend & Microservices Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Site Reliability & Application Support: Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of .NET-based services; lead incident management, root-cause investigations, security compliance, and end-of-life (EOL) remediation initiatives.
- DevOps & Platform Operations: Build and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps for applications hosted on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and KOB infrastructures.
- Database Management: Design schemas, write complex queries, and execute performance tuning across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
- Observability & Automation: Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and observability metrics (SLOs, error budgets) to drive proactive system health and reduce operational toil.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure, enterprise architecture, security, and multi-technology teams (supporting Java, Salesforce, Oracle, and MongoDB) to ensure smooth application releases.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of professional software development experience focused on backend architecture, API engineering, and system reliability.
- Core Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful API design, relational database administration (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), and networking fundamentals (DNS, IP routing, TLS/SSL, WAF).
- DevOps & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with source control and build automation utilizing Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- Preferred Capabilities: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, SRE practices, PCF platform operations, cloud-native modernization, and cross-platform server migrations (Windows/Linux).
