Role Summary
Databricks is hiring a Software Engineer, Infrastructure, for its IT Corporate Engineering Infrastructure team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building scalable cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and observability platforms to improve developer productivity and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code: Develop and deploy production-grade cloud infrastructure using Terraform or Pulumi.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Build and maintain secure, cost-optimized, highly available infrastructure, primarily on AWS.
- Container Orchestration: Deploy, manage, and scale containerized workloads using Kubernetes, including EKS or AKS, and Docker.
- CI/CD Automation: Build, maintain, and troubleshoot deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and cloud-hosted or self-hosted runners.
- Observability: Implement logging, metrics, and tracing standards using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Tooling and Scripting: Develop Python automation scripts, internal CLI tools, and AI-assisted workflows to streamline engineering tasks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Support teams to deliver technical projects.
- Documentation: Maintain operational playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
- Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews and help onboard team members to supported platforms.
Key Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
- Working knowledge of Terraform or Pulumi, including modules and state management.
- Hands-on experience supporting production workloads in AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Understanding of logging, metrics, and tracing, with experience using Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Ability to manage technical tasks from planning through implementation and delivery.
