Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior C# Developer (.NET Core) to design and build resilient backend microservices for a distributed enterprise Travel Platform. In this position, you will work with cross-functional teams and globally distributed stakeholders (including Sydney time zone collaboration) to construct cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will apply API-First Design, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven patterns to handle complex data aggregation, policy enforcement, and multi-supplier travel integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Microservices Engineering: Design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade microservices using C# and .NET Core within cloud-native Azure environments.
- System Integration & Architecture: Implement synchronous RESTful APIs and asynchronous event-driven integrations applying API-First and Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Database Design & Optimization: Model efficient relational SQL and NoSQL database structures while optimizing query performance and maintaining data consistency across distributed systems.
- Resiliency & Cloud Engineering: Implement fault tolerance, configuration management, and distributed system patterns to guarantee high availability and platform scalability.
- Agile Collaboration & Technical Quality: Perform peer code reviews, write comprehensive unit tests, solve production bottlenecks, and collaborate closely with Architects, Product Managers, and QA teams.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 6+ years of core backend software development experience specializing in C# and .NET / .NET Core architectures.
- Core Technical Stack: Mastery of C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, SQL, NoSQL, and Microsoft Azure cloud native services.
- Engineering Practices: Proven expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), unit testing frameworks, microservice resiliency patterns, and distributed system design.
- Nice to Have: Domain experience in travel technology, Global Distribution Systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), booking engines, or supplier content aggregation engines.
About the Team
You will join a medium-sized collaborative team (10-20 people) consisting of Solution Architects, Product Managers, Business Analysts, DevOps, and QA Engineers working together on large-scale modern digital transformation initiatives.
