Role Summary
Cyberhaven is seeking an experienced, high-impact Senior Backend Software Engineer (AI Security) to join our engineering organization in Bangalore, Karnataka, India (Hybrid). In this critical backend development role, you will design, scale, and optimize large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems that process billions of events from hundreds of thousands of endpoints in real time with sub-second latency. Leveraging production-grade Go (Golang), Kubernetes, and modern cloud data stores, you will architect security controls to protect sensitive enterprise data as it flows into and out of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI applications, and autonomous AI agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Scalable Distributed Systems: Architect, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency backend systems processing billions of daily events from hundreds of thousands of active endpoints worldwide.
- AI Data Protection: Engineer security frameworks and detection layers that inspect, govern, and protect sensitive customer data moving across LLMs, GenAI tools, enterprise AI agents, and workflows.
- Production Go Engineering: Design, write, test, and ship clean, highly performant, production-ready microservices primarily using Go (Golang).
- API Integrations & Connectors: Develop deep, API-level connectors and integrations linking Cyberhaven's platform with enterprise SaaS applications and modern AI/LLM platforms.
- Performance & Scale Optimization: Diagnose, profile, and resolve complex distributed computing bottlenecks across massive event streams, caches, and storage engines.
- Secure-by-Design Engineering: Implement defensive engineering standards to protect services against real-world attack vectors while safely ingesting untrusted data streams.
- Cross-Geographic Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, engineering squads, and cross-functional teams distributed across India, Europe, and the United States.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering systems that operate at large scale.
- Language Expertise: Strong, hands-on production expertise in Go (Golang) for building mission-critical services.
- Distributed Infrastructure: Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating microservices, Kubernetes workloads, and containerized architectures in production.
- Data Systems: Hands-on experience working with databases at massive scale (experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Bigtable, BigQuery, Spanner, or Redis is a strong advantage).
- Performance Tuning: Deep familiarity with profiling, telemetry, and debugging distributed streaming systems and event-driven data pipelines.
- Domain Knowledge: Exposure to building enterprise SaaS connectors or safeguarding AI/LLM interfaces is highly desirable.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to work in a hybrid capacity out of Bangalore, India.
