Role Summary
Comcast is hiring a Development Engineer 2 for its Unified Communications Engineering team in Chennai. In this role, you will work as a full-stack engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native web applications and REST/GraphQL API services. You will containerize applications with Docker, deploy services onto Kubernetes, implement continuous integration pipelines, and set up observability monitoring dashboards using Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Stack Development: Develop responsive web interfaces using ReactJS/NodeJS and build high-throughput microservices using Golang, Python, or gRPC.
- Cloud Native & Kubernetes: Containerize web services, manage container repositories, and deploy scalable applications onto private cloud (OpenStack) and Kubernetes platforms.
- DevOps & Observability: Configure CI/CD pipelines, code scanning, and build monitoring dashboards and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, and ELK stack.
- Testing & System Architecture: Write maintainable unit/integration test suites, troubleshoot production issues across US/India cross-functional squads, and document technical design procedures.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of coursework and experience).
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Full Stack / Software Development Engineer in cloud-native environments.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Expertise in Golang, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, ReactJS, NodeJS, Kubernetes, container orchestration, Git version control, and Linux shell scripting.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with gRPC, Python, OpenStack private cloud, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Core Soft Skills: Self-motivated learning, inventive problem-solving, active collaboration across international teams, and clear technical communication.
