Role Summary
Comcast is hiring a Development Engineer 1 for its international engineering team in Chennai. In this role, you will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using modern programming languages. You will participate in Agile sprints, write technical documentation, debug software to optimize performance, execute testing protocols, and collaborate closely with Quality Assurance teams to deliver high-quality digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Assist in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining scalable software applications across the product development lifecycle.
- Code Quality & Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews, debug software components, and implement feedback to continuously improve development standards.
- Testing & QA Collaboration: Implement automated and manual testing protocols to identify bugs, verify technical specifications, and optimize overall system performance.
- Agile Operations & Documentation: Engage actively in Agile practices (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and author clear technical design documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of coursework and experience).
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of professional software engineering development experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Core programming fundamentals, software debugging, unit/integration testing protocols, version control, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Technical documentation writing, QA collaboration tools, and familiarity with modern continuous delivery workflows.
- Core Soft Skills: Results-driven mindset, adaptability, inventive problem-solving, and effective team communication.
