Role Summary
Comcast is hiring a Data Scientist 4 for its Data Science & Analytics group in Chennai. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy end-to-end data science models to extract actionable insights from high-volume, high-dimensional data. You will construct predictive models, perform advanced feature engineering, build visualization dashboards using Grafana or Superset, mentor junior data scientists, and translate complex technical results into strategic business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Data Science: Drive projects from exploratory data analysis and feature engineering through to model development, validation, and delivery of business insights.
- Machine Learning & Advanced Modeling: Apply traditional statistical methods and deep learning techniques to execute time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and correlation analysis.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Construct interactive dashboards and metrics reporting using frameworks like Grafana or Apache Superset.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide junior to mid-level data scientists, enforce clean modular Python code standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery framework.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of coursework and experience).
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of commercial data science experience, with at least 3+ years managing end-to-end machine learning project lifecycles.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Modular Python programming, advanced SQL, exploratory data analysis, predictive modeling, feature extraction, and Grafana/Superset dashboarding.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Cloud data warehouses (Google BigQuery, CloudSQL), telecommunications/networking domain knowledge, Prometheus monitoring, time-series analysis, and deep learning algorithms.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong technical mentorship, analytical problem-solving, and executive-level technical communication skills.
