Java Developer (AWS)

Role Summary

Cognizant is hiring a Java Developer (AWS) as a Lead Developer in Chennai (Hybrid). In this cloud-native engineering role, you will design and build resilient microservices architectures using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and AWS. You will orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, automate CI/CD delivery pipelines, and execute vulnerability management to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Backend Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Python on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Containerization & CI/CD: Deploy and manage containerized microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Vulnerability & Security Management: Perform vulnerability identification, triaging, tracking, and remediation, embedding DevSecOps best practices into the development lifecycle.
• Operational Automation & Tuning: Write automation scripts, support production maintenance, tune system performance, and optimize distributed cloud architectures.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience: 5–10 years of software engineering experience in cloud-native Java and Python backend systems.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Java, Spring Boot, Python, AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and vulnerability management methodologies.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: AWS Certified Developer Associate certification, Big Data architectures, and large-scale data processing pipelines.
