Role Summary
Clarivate is hiring a Cash Applications Associate for its Global Finance & Accounting team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Hybrid, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST). In this core finance role, you will manage daily cash application activities, record complex customer payment transactions into enterprise ERP systems, research and clear unapplied cash balances, and perform accounts receivable reconciliations in compliance with SOX controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Transaction Processing: Record complex customer cash receipts, wire transfers, ACH payments, refunds, and intercompany adjustments accurately in the ERP system.
- Unapplied Cash Resolution: Conduct research using advanced analytical techniques to identify, allocate, and clear unapplied or unallocated cash payments.
- Reconciliation & SOX Compliance: Support internal and external audits by preparing accurate account reconciliations and ensuring strict adherence to SOX policies and cash handling guidelines.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive accounting workflows, simplify daily cash application procedures, and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with credit, collections, and billing teams to troubleshoot escalated customer payment inquiries and generate daily operational reports using MS Excel.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce (B.Com / BBA / M.Com), or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of dedicated experience in cash application operations and Order-to-Cash (O2C) accounting processes.
- Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) with hands-on experience using enterprise ERP platforms such as Oracle EBS, NetSuite, or Salesforce.
- Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail, adherence to tight daily closing deadlines, and excellent communication skills.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work in a hybrid model during evening shifts (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST).
