Role Summary
Cisco is hiring a Full-Stack Wireless Software Engineer for its Wireless Feature & System Engineering team in Bengaluru. In this full development and test role, you will build and validate end-to-end wireless capabilities spanning Access Points (APs), controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. You will own features from implementation through automated validation, debugging logs/packet traces, and reproducing fixes across system components.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Wireless Development: Develop and integrate software features across Access Point (AP), controller, and cloud management layers in C/C++ and Python.
- Test Automation & Validation: Design test plans, build automated test scripts for feature validation, and set up lab testing environments.
- Debugging & Diagnostics: Analyze logs, packet traces, and system behavior to debug, isolate, and fix system issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with platform, radio, QA, and cloud engineering teams to ensure seamless Wi-Fi performance.
Key Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Master's degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong skills in C/C++ and Python programming, networking fundamentals, Wi-Fi (802.11) concepts, test automation, and system validation.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Experience with Wireshark, wireless controllers, cloud-managed systems, and WPA2/WPA3 security protocols.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, debugging expertise, and a keen interest in end-to-end system testing.
