Role Summary
Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer for its Platform as a Service (PaaS) team. The role involves full-stack development, backend services, API platforms, messaging systems, CI/CD, Kubernetes-based deployments, and platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Build platform portals and dashboards using React or Angular with backend services using Python and/or Go.
- Backend Services: Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices supporting platform workflows and integrations.
- Platform Engineering: Contribute to PaaS offerings including API Gateways such as Mashery and Mule and Kafka-based messaging systems.
- CI/CD: Participate in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Argo CD, and Argo Workflows.
- Kubernetes: Support Kubernetes-based application deployments and platform operations.
- Database Development: Work with relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Quality: Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews.
- Production Support: Assist with troubleshooting, defect resolution, and on-call support for platform services.
Key Qualifications
- 1–2 years of software engineering experience with hands-on full-stack development.
- Experience with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go for backend service development.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with Mashery, Mule, or Kafka.
- Exposure to LLMs, LangChain, RAG, or GenAI tooling is preferred.
