Role Summary
Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer to support cloud DevOps, automation, software delivery, and cloud infrastructure operations. The role focuses on CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, monitoring, scripting, and microservices.
Key Responsibilities
- DevOps Automation: Automate and optimize software delivery and infrastructure processes.
- CI/CD: Build and maintain deployment pipelines using Jenkins and support reliable delivery from development to production.
- Infrastructure as Code: Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform modules, state management, and automated workflows.
- Containerization: Containerize Java, Python, and ReactJS applications using Docker and support migrations to EKS.
- Kubernetes: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot workloads running on Amazon EKS.
- Development: Support Java and Python backend development, application debugging, and REST API integrations.
- Monitoring: Use Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk to monitor infrastructure, applications, and logs.
- Scripting: Automate infrastructure and deployment tasks using Bash or Python.
- Version Control: Work with Git workflows and manage repositories using GitLab or Bitbucket.
- Cloud Networking: Work with AWS VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancing for EKS connectivity.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in a Cloud DevOps role.
- Understanding of software development and system administration principles.
- Basic knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience with cloud and microservices architecture.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
