Software Engineer

Role Summary

Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer for its Cisco Wireless division in Bangalore, Karnataka. In this hybrid engineering role, you will design, develop, validate, and automate software features for cloud-managed and on-premise wireless networking devices, including Access Points and Wireless Controllers. You will build customer-facing management solutions and backend/frontend applications utilizing Java, Ruby, React, or Angular, alongside Python-based automated testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development & Engineering: Define, design, and implement features that enable enterprise customers to manage wireless network infrastructure seamlessly.
• Full Stack Engineering: Write clean, high-quality code across modern application frameworks using Java, Ruby, React, or Angular.
• Automation & Quality Engineering: Develop automated test suites using Python to validate features and ensure software stability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers (PM), Firmware Engineers, and Technical Marketing Engineers (TMEs) to align technical designs with customer requirements.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience: 0–2 years of software development and engineering experience.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Hands-on development expertise in Java, Ruby, React, or Angular.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: Proficiency in Python-based software automation and network management concepts.
