Role Summary
CGI is hiring a Software Engineer Automation Tester with strong ETL, Python, and UI automation expertise in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead end-to-end quality assurance spanning data warehouse layer validations, Python-based automation frameworks, UI testing with Playwright, REST API validation, and performance load testing using Apache JMeter.
Key Responsibilities
- ETL & Data Warehousing Testing: Validate source-to-target data flows across DB2, Oracle, and MySQL engines. Perform data completeness, transformation checks, and write complex SQL queries across landing, raw, derived, and mart layers.
- Test Automation (Python & Playwright): Design, develop, and maintain Python automation frameworks. Execute UI and dashboard (Tableau/Web) automation scripts using Python + Playwright.
- API Testing & Integration: Validate REST APIs for response accuracy, schema consistency, and edge cases using Postman and Python request modules; integrate API test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Performance & Load Testing: Build and execute performance test plans using Apache JMeter to analyze throughput, latency, bottlenecks, and system scalability.
- CI/CD & Reporting: Integrate automated test scripts with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git) and generate test execution reports and coverage metrics.
Key Qualifications
- Core QA Competencies: Proven background in ETL testing, data warehousing methodologies, and data reconciliation strategies.
- Programming Depth: Strong coding skills in Python for building scalable test automation scripts and utilities.
- UI & Performance Tools: Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation and Apache JMeter for load/performance testing.
- Database Mastery: Advanced SQL capabilities (window functions, complex joins, aggregations).
- Nice to Have: Exposure to AWS Cloud services (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift), BI dashboard validation (Tableau), and cloud-based data migration testing.
